Hundreds Attend Colorado Mountain Winefest
Saturday in the Park Draws Big Crowds Saturday
PALISADE, CO (KJCT) – Hundreds of people lined up Saturday morning for Colroado Mountain Winefest events. The festival at Riverbend Park is the most popular event of the Winefest weekend lineup.
Wineries from across the valley poured sample glasses and chefs were on hand to teach people how to cook with wine.
People come from across the state to get a taste of Palisade's vino. We met several travelers who made the drive over from Denver for the festival.
"I'm from Arvada she's actually from Denver proper," says one woman of herself and her sister. "We came all the way here for a fun three days. It's very relaxing, a good way to spend the day and get away from the troubles at work and stuff."
"It's a big family tradition for some of my friends," says another first-time Winefest attendee from Denver, "so I'm taking part in that."
The festival continues Sunday with a guided tour of the wineries and a seminar on grape growing. Itall leads up to the amateur winemaking awards.
