Colorado Mountain Winefest Announces Celebrity Chef Events and Demonstrations – Tuesday, July 20, 2010
PALISADE, Colo. (July 20, 2010) – The 19th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest has an afternoon full of chef demonstrations presented by Viking during Saturday’s Festival in the Park (Sept. 18 – Riverbend Park, Palisade, Colo.).
Vaughn Hobbs, Viking Executive Chef, will emcee Saturday’s events with each chef demonstration lasting 45 minutes. The Saturday, Sept. 18, chef line up – which is open to those attending the Festival - includes:
11:00 a.m.: Chef Vaughn Hobbs, Viking Executive Chef
12:00 p.m.: Chef Kelly Liken, 2010 Winefest Celebrity Chef/Owner of Restaurant Kelly Liken, Vail/Contestant on Iron Chef America and Top Chef D.C.
1:00 p.m.: Chef Wayne Smith, Certified Executive Chef and Culinary Instructor at the Western Colorado Community College in Grand Junction
2:00 p.m.: Chef Kelly Liken
3:00 p.m.: Chef Vaughn Hobbs
4:00 p.m.: Chef Kevin Clarke, Certified Executive Chef and Director of the Colorado Mountain College Culinary Apprenticeship Program

In addition, Celebrity Chef Kelly Liken has an exclusive event scheduled for Friday, Sept. 17, at the DoubleTree Hotel (743 Horizon Dr., Grand Junction, Colo.). There, Chef Liken will take the local flavors from the Western Slope and demonstrate how she creates a meal that highlights and complements the flavors of the distinctive local wines. In addition, Chef Liken will join guests for dinner following her demonstration.

4:30-5:30: Chef Kelly Liken Cooking Demo - $50

7:30-9:30: Enstrom’s Chocolate and Wine Tasting - $54
