Boulder, Colo., Executive Chef and Beverage Manager to Headline 20th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest
PALISADE, Colo. (April 6, 2011) – Executive Chef Kevin Kidd and Beverage Manager Evan Faber of SALT in Boulder, Colo., will headline the chef demonstrations at the 20th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade, Colo.
“Two of the best that Colorado has to offer are headlining this year’s event,” Colorado Mountain Winefest Executive Director Sarah Catlin said. “These men bring a fresh new perspective to food and wine, and the pairings they’ll demonstrate with Colorado-grown products are sure to be superb.”
Executive Chef Kevin Kidd is originally from Scituate, Massachusetts and began working with SALT owner Chef Bradford Heap in 2000 at the Cautauqua Dining Hall and the Full Moon Grill. Chef Kidd has trained in classic French and Italian techniques alongside Heap. By 2002 Chef Kidd was promoted to Sous Chef and later that year took over as Chef de Cuisine, becoming an integral part of the restaurant’s success. SALT, a true bistro-style neighborhood restaurant, opened in 2009 with Chef Kidd as Executive Chef.
Beverage Manager Evan Faber managed the wine program at the St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder, Colorado. Prior to that he lived in Colorado Springs, working his way up from busser to wine steward at two of The Broadmoor Hotel’s most prestigious restaurants: The Charles Court, a four star/four diamond restaurant, which features hundreds of domestic selections, and the Penrose Room, Colorado’s only five star/five diamond restaurant, with an extensive European wine list. Faber received formal wine training through the Court of Master Sommeliers.
