Wine Industry Group Earmarks $75,000 to Support New State Researcher

The Rocky Mountain
Association of Vintners &
Viticulturists has donated $75,000 over the next two years to
support Steve Menke as resident state wine researcher.
Menke, an associate professor with Colorado State
University, will research the unique characteristics of
Colorado grapes, help develop the Colorado wine brand
and teach classes. Based at the CSU Western Colorado
Research Center in Grand Junction, Menke will join CSU
viticulture professor Horst Caspari to work with growers,
vintners and consumers.
The Rocky Mountain Association of Vintners & Viticulturists
is a trade organization of grape growers and winemakers in Colorado.
Since 1982, the RMAVV has strived to promote grape growers and winemakers
in the region. The group stages the Colorado Mountain Winefest to raise
money for education, seminars, research and equipment purchases. For
