Winefest makes a strong start

September 16, 2010 (KKCO) – Hotels and restaurants quickly filled up with travelers from all across the country who are coming to Colorado's 19th annual Winefest this weekend. Thousands of wine lovers make the trip every year to the western slope to sample a growing array of Colorado wines. The event kicked off today and has a full weekend of events, from winery tours, chef demonstrations and the always popular grape stomp. This years event even has celebrity chef "Kelly Liken" from tv's Top Chef.

"We were named one of the 5 best fests for Fall by Better Homes and Gardens and that's huge for the promotion of Colorado in general," says the event's executive director, Sarah Catlin. Colorado Mountain Winefest is the fundraiser for the trade organization of grape growers and wine makers of Colorado.
